Sir Jonathan Cohen Returns to Chambers Following his Retirement as High Court Judge

22nd October 2024

4PB is delighted to announce the return to chambers of Sir Jonathan Cohen (with immediate effect) after his recent retirement from the High Court Bench.

After a stellar career at the Bar where he undertook some of the largest financial remedies cases as well as difficult children’s cases, followed by many years determining complex and high net worth financial remedies cases at the bench, Sir Jonathan has returned to chambers to undertake arbitrations, mediations, private FDRs and early neutral evaluations.”

Charles Hale KC and Barbara Mills KC, joint heads of chambers, said,

“We are absolutely delighted to have Sir Jonathan back with us.  Not only does Jonathan bring years of exceptional experience at the Bar and the Bench, but he also brings compassion and a continued desire to help resolve disputes without the need for court.  He is a passionate advocate for NCDR processes and will be a real asset (once more) to what 4pb is able to offer the family justice market.”

Sir Jonathan said,

“I am delighted to return to my professional home at 4PB. Having presided over many hard fought battles in financial remedy and children proceedings at the High Court bench and witnessed first-hand the trauma that those proceedings can bring to families,  I am eager to help parties to reach agreements wherever possible, away from the court process.”
