The court ordered the return of a 13-year-old boy to Ireland to live with his father, despite the boy’s strong objections. Returning him to Ireland would restore him to the school in which he had been thriving and offer a chance to restore his relationship with his father. If he remained in his mother’s care, there was a risk of chaotic incidents such as those had led to a residence order being made in the father’s favour in 2012.
