Profile

Prior to pupillage, Ciara worked as a County Court advocate and appeared in over 500 hearings. Ciara accepted instructions, undertook drafting and represented numerous clients in various civil matters in court.

At City, University of London, Ciara was a member of the Free Legal Advice clinic, which saw her undertake pro-bono cases under the supervision of a barrister, in both family and civil matters. This included conferences with the clients exploring their case with them, all the way up to writing a detailed Letter of Advice.

At the University of Bristol, Ciara was a member of the Human Rights Law Clinic. Through this clinic she was able to conduct pro-bono legal research into United Nations treaties and their ratification and implementation in certain countries. This research was to assist partners of the Human Rights Implementation Centre.

Ciara also offers mentorship to those at the very beginning of their legal journey and those wishing to pursue a career in law.

Throughout her university career Ciara undertook multiple mooting competitions. Most notably, Ciara took part in an international mooting competition which was entered by 40 teams. After proceeding to the oral rounds, Ciara won “Best Pleader” of the competition alongside additional team prizes.

In her spare time, Ciara enjoys cooking, travelling and running to raise money for charity. She ran the 2023 London Marathon for Brain Research UK and hopes to undertake another in the near future.
