The case involved a multi-billion pound divorce, where the UK Supreme Court (UKSC) rejected Natalia Nikolaevna Potanina’s claim against her Russian husband under Part III of the Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Act 1984. The Supreme Court referred the case back to the England and Wales Court of Appeal (EWCA) as it found current financial remedies practice violates procedural fairness.
