Discusses, by reference to the case of Islington LBC v Al-Alas, the authors concerns in relation to the proper reliance on, and effective use of, experts in cases of alleged non-accidental injury to a child. Explores whether the speedy justice in care cases which will result from the proposed introduction of a six months time limit for completing care proceedings and the mooted imposition of restrictions on use of experts may lead to injustice.
